Maur Hill - Mount Academy has been welcoming and educating international students since the 1930's! We have alumni around the world, representing over 75 countries. Admission Timeline & Application Process

Students can apply for the fall (August) or spring (January) semester. We recommend to apply early to allow time for the student visa process. All international students are sponsored on a F-1 student visa, the school provides an I-20 to the student. Students can apply for grades 9th - 11th, if applying to 12th grade please contact the Admission Office prior to starting the application. 

English as a Second Language Program - We do require a certain level of , this is dependent on grade level. MHMA accepts most proficiency tests, and a virtual interview is required with the Director of Admission. 

Study Abroad Students - MHMA has hosted international students who want to study abroad for one year. Most study abroad students enroll in the 10th or 11th grades.  Study abroad students interested in 12th grade or post-graduate please contact the Admission Office prior to starting the application. This is a great way to experience an American classroom, live on campus, improve English skills, and continue their high school education. 

Follow these steps to complete the application process:

APPLY ONLINE - Create an and start the application. Our application portal will provide a checklist once the application has been submitted. We also accept the Standard Application Online (SAO).

PAY APPLICATION FEE - $100 (non-refundable). Can be paid online;  Application Fee at bottom of page or

LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION - Three letters of recommendation required: 2 teachers (Math & English) and 1 principal/counselor. Letters can be submitted by email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

TRANSCRIPTS - Submit transcripts showing grades and credits from current school year AND previous two years. Transcripts can be unofficial for the admission process. English translation is required. Official transcripts must be submitted to school prior to the first day of school. 

ENGLISH PROFICIENCY EXAM - We accept most English proficiency exams: Duolingo, TOEFL Jr., TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge, CEFR, ELTiS.  Proficiency requirements can be found

PASSPORT - Copy of passport can be uploaded in application portal. 

STANDARDIZED EXAM (optional) - This is an optional part of the application. Please submit SSAT scores if taken. School code: 4932

STUDENT INTERVIEW -  all prospective students must interview with the Director of Admission. This interview can be conducted virtually using Skype, Zoom, WhatsApp Video, or WeChat. 

Once you have completed the admission process, our admission committee will make a decision. Most decisions are released within two weeks. Student visa information can be found on our page.
